Advent

Advent is a special Christian season at the beginning of the Christian calendar marked by waiting, watching, preparing, hoping, and reflecting on the love of God and the birth of Christ. Its name comes from the Latin word adventus which means “coming.” It begins 4 Sundays before Christmas and concludes on Christmas Eve. This year, Advent begins on Sunday, December 1 and ends on Tuesday, December 24.

Throughout Advent, we have our typical two Sunday morning worship services and each week has a focus — hope, peace, joy, and love, respectively. Our theme during Advent this year is “Words for the Beginning,” and you can read more about that theme below.

We also have a wide variety of other worship services, opportunities for spiritual growth, donation drives, and more special offerings during this season. We hope you’ll find something to take part in, whether it’s returning to an old tradition or exploring something completely new!
